Search Engine Traffic
Internet Marketing is all about Search Engines. Search Engines are the primary source of visitors for nearly every site on the web. If your site can’t be found in major Search Engines then you are missing out on an opportunity for attracting numerous visitors to your site. Search Engines have an advantage, the user found your site while looking for your products or services, this is the ideal time to achieve a sale, half of your work has already been done, they already know they need your product or service, that’s why they were searching in the first place.
There are two ways of generating traffic from search engines; the first is through the main Search Engine Results Page and the second is through paid listings. Using Google as an example let’s see what the difference is.
Search Engine Results Pages

The image above shows two highlighted areas, the blue area to the left is the Search Engine Results, you do not have to pay Google to be listed in this section, our Search Engine Optimisation service deals with optimising your site to appear at the top of these listings for words and phrases relevant to your site.
The orange area to the right shows the listings that you have to pay Google for, these are paid for on a ‘Per Click’ basis; you pay Google every time someone visits your site through your Google advert. Prices vary depending on how competitive the particular word or phrase is. Our Cost Per Click services help you to get the most out of your paid adverts on the Search Engines.
Search Engine Optimisation involves optimising your Web site for a set of words or phrases relevant to your business. If you sell spare parts for printers then a suitable phrase may be ‘printer spares’. The first task in developing a successful Search Engine optimisation campaign is to identify the words or phrases your customers are searching for by both brainstorming and using a number of resources available on-line that show the number of searches for every word or phrase each month. The value of this task can not be overestimated as getting this wrong can mean time and money wasted.
If you would like to get an idea of the number of people searching for terms related to your site now, please visit Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool and enter a word or phrase to see how many people searched for it last month on most of the major search engine other than Google, which is not included in the numbers returned.
For more information, including examples of our work, please see Search Engine Optimisation.
In most cases Cost Per Click advertising is not the most effective method of Internet Marketing. When your customers are looking at the results of their search the first place they will look is the Search Engine Results we have already looked at. However it is sometimes impractical to target a certain term through Search Engine Optimisation. This may be because you do not have time to wait for the results of a Search Engine Optimisation campaign, or because you wish to target a large number of terms with a low number of searches each month for which you do not feel Search Engine Optimisation is the best solution.
Cost Per Click can also be an effective short term solution while you wait for your Search Engine Optimisation campaign to mature. Whatever the reason for choosing Cost Per Click advertising we have the experience necessary to ensure that you get the most out of your campaign, we take all of the hassle out of Cost Per Click by managing your campaign on your behalf to ensure maximum return on your investment. If you would prefer to manage your Cost Per Click campaign yourself please visit Google Adwords or Overture.
